The cohorts' asynchronous (text) discussions will take place on a platform called Heartbeat, and our live Q&A call each session will be over Google Meet.

The official dates and times will be decided after the live workshop airs and cohort members have joined our Heartbeat community so that we can try to find a time that works for as many members as possible.

Yes! We have two different payment plans for the Transformation Track: Full purchase and 3-part split pay.

You can pay $597 today and lock in your all-access pass to all three workshops.

Or you can pay in 2 or 3 parts (one today, and then each month from now until paid off).

Both options secure your seat, but just keep in mind that you are required to complete all payments on the payment plan, even if you decide not to attend those workshops or participate in all the cohorts.

By purchasing a Transformation Track ticket, you are reserving one of only 15 spots—a spot that will then be unavailable to other writers—so we expect you to pay the full amount you agree to today.

All tickets include replay access for 3 weeks only.

You will have the option to upgrade to an Ongoing Access Pass during the replay’s final week allows you to extend your access to the live workshop replay indefinitely. Check your email after the live session ends for more details about this opportunity.

At the end of the three weeks of your included replay access after the live workshop airs, you’ll receive an offer to upgrade to an “ongoing access” that lives inside Sue’s student course platform.

We’re not offering this at registration because we don’t want to overwhelm you with too many choices upfront.

No. I don't share my slides when I speak at other events, so I'm not asking our speakers to share theirs. 

Putting together a cohesive presentation takes a lot of effort and time, and I consider any slide deck used in those presentations as the intellectual property of the person who compiled and shared it.

However, you will receive the session's workbook at no extra charge. 

Not currently. Replay access is intended for ticketholders who purchased access to either the Standard Live Workshop or the Implementation Cohort of a session in our HEA Sessions Summer 2025 Series.

Sue or the presenters may offer these programs again in the future, but not in this same format, and the price will likely never be this low again.

No. You can only access the Discussion threads and extra training resources during our live implementation cohort dates. 

After that, we may include some of these insights into the Ongoing Access replay “course” in Sue’s online university, but it will not be a full, complete reproduction of the cohort experience. The reason for this twofold:

1. We cannot maintain management of the social areas after the cohort has wrapped up. (We’ll have moved on to the next cohort.)
2. We need to protect the identities of cohort participants. (Your name will not be shared outside that private space.)

The implementation Cohorts are designed to fit into a busy writer’s schedule. You should plan to spend 3-5 hours per week engaging with prompts, exercises, and discussion threads. Live Q&A sessions will last up to 60 minutes and are optional but add incredible value to the experience. You’re never required to participate in every single activity. This space is meant to help your growth, not add unnecessary pressure.

You should, however, be prepared to participate in the cohort activities during the 3-week time frame that each cohort experience is delivered live. You will not have access to the private group space after the 3 weeks ends, so if you skip it, you will miss out.

With the Standard ticket, you can catch up on the workshop with replay access. If you've purchased an Implementation Cohort pass but can’t fully participate, you can still access all prompts, exercises, and the Q&A recording during the program window.

You’ll get direct access during the live workshop’s Q&A along with standard ticket holders, as well as during the private Q&A session  (which will likely take place over Google Meet) during the implementation cohort. In the cohort, the presenters actively engage with your questions and offer personalized feedback on a limited basis.

The cohorts are designed to be group programs where you get a combination of peer feedback and expert guidance. Our goal with each cohort experience is to help you more deeply understand the workshop content so you can apply it to your unique story challenges. 

This is a rare opportunity to work closely with professionals who usually only offer this level of interaction in their private memberships or in expensive one-on-one consultations.

In the Implementation Cohort, you’ll have opportunities to share your work through exercises and prompts. The presenters will try to give feedback to every participant who requests it, as long as you submit your work in a timely fashion (and don’t try to cram it all into the final few days). That’s why we’re capping the cohort groups to 20 total students.

However, with a ratio of twenty students to one presenter, there are definitely limitations on how much time we can spend on each individual participant’s feedback. We’re leaning into the collaborative, supportive atmosphere of the cohort itself to enrich your experience and fill in the gaps for questions the speakers might not have time for.

Even if we can’t get to every single question in the discussion threads and assignments, we will do our best to answer them during the Week 2 live Q&A call, which will be recorded and available for replay in the final week of your cohort. If you can’t be there, you will be able to submit questions in advance that we will answer on the call.

Not at all! You control how much or little you share. The cohort is a supportive, private space where you’ll find like-minded writers cheering you on.

If you’re not ready to share publicly, you can still benefit from the discussions, exercises, and feedback from others, but we do encourage you to be willing to at least contribute to some of the cohort exercises so we can create a vibrant community of sharing and lifting one another up. The presenters will give feedback in a kind, supportive, never-critical way, and that is the standard we will enforce for the cohort communities as well.

We will NOT be communicating via Direct (private) Message. All discussions will take place in the areas where all cohort members can learn from them and contribute. If this makes you uncomfortable, consider attending only the live workshops instead and skipping the cohort experiences.

The workshops, cohorts, materials, and sessions are designed to give you lasting value, but if you have questions down the line, you’ll have the option to explore additional resources or join ongoing programs Sue and the presenters may offer in the future.

The HEA Sessions are designed to take writers deeper into the craft, diving into fresh topics, storytelling nuance, and advanced techniques. This format also allows for live interaction and tailored feedback, so even if you’ve taken related workshops elsewhere, the new insights and hands-on approach of the HEA Sessions will provide even greater clarity and inspiration.

Possibly, but definitely not bundled together at the Transformation Track price, and—individually—likely not with a live hands-on support element.

The HEA Sessions is a one-time offering of these three excellent workshops from a trio of presenters who go above and beyond to help their students make giant leaps in their story quality and writing confidence.

Even if we do another round of the HEA Sessions (say for Winter 2025), it will not include any of these workshops and will include at least 2 new presenters (with Sue, as the host, possibly filling a spot with a new workshop and cohort offering).

Absolutely. Each workshop is designed as a standalone learning experience that focuses on one critical element of storytelling.

However, the Transformation Track and Story Development Pass connect all three sessions together through developing the personal psychological muscles you need to build a cohesive, enriched process for your writing work.

These workshops are best suited for writers who have developed foundational craft skills, completed at least one full manuscript, and want to take their storytelling to a deeper, more nuanced level. We move at a brisk pace and don’t revisit typical beginner-level topics, so these workshops might feel overwhelming for a brand new writer.

If you already understand how to tell a complete story, know who you are as a character-driven fiction writer, and are eager to refine your voice, align your work with your unique creative instincts, or create deeper connections with readers, you’re ready for the HEA Sessions.

If you’re focused on refining your writing independently, the Standard ticket is an excellent starting point.

If you thrive with structured guidance and a small group, the Implementation Cohorts are where you’ll see the most growth.

The Implementation Cohorts are designed to foster community-building. You won’t be auto-matched to any of your fellow cohort members, so how much or little you choose to network is up to you.

For Standard ticket holders, live chat during workshops provides opportunities to engage with fellow writers. Feel free to share your pen name, social details, and website in your Airmeet profile so others can find you later.

Due to the digital nature of these events, refunds are not offered. However, we are confident in the value of The HEA Sessions and are happy to address any concerns before you purchase (to help you make your decision) or during the event (to ensure your experience is valuable).
